Bangkok, Thailand’s bustling capital city, has once again received the highest score from Travel+Leisure Magazine’s online survey of the World’s Best Cities in 2012. This is the third year in a row that Bangkok has maintained the leading position in this survey of international travellers. The scoring for the World’s Best Cities in the Travel+Leisure survey was based on six criteria including sights, culture & arts, restaurants & food, people, shopping, and value.

TAT Governor Mr. Suraphon Svetasreni said, “The TAT is honoured Bangkok has again received the highest ranking among the World’s Best Cities in this prestigious survey. Travel+Leisure Magazine’s audience represents a large and sophisticated base of travellers worldwide, and we are delighted that they recognise all that Bangkok has to offer. We also appreciate that many other tourist destinations and tourism operators in Thailand were highly ranked in the survey.”

In addition to the World’s Best City Award, Thailand’s islands, hotels, resorts, and airlines were also ranked among the best by survey respondents:
